You will offer routine and specialist computing support at (i) division level (to the Department of earth science (0.5 FTE)) and (ii) in school level (to all seven departments across the faculty of Science & Engineering (0.5 FTE)). This includes deploying and supporting desktop PCs, laptops, Macintosh computers, UNIX workstations, mobile devices, tablets, printers, scanners and MFDs. The role includes maintaining a list of this instrumentality within the school to help with the rolling replacement programme wherever applicable.
The support work covers all interventions needed throughout the lifespan of equipment: from initial specification and purchase; installation; configuration; deployment and updating of software; provision of user support; and ultimate disposal. so you will facilitate to support the administration and delivery of prime quality teaching and internationally recognised analysis undertaken within the school.
